Where we began

Booking a flight is a familiar task, but the carbon emissions associated with that journey may remain hard for a passenger to see. Behave asks how that information could become part of the booking process, and how a passenger’s interest in responding to it might connect with work on community forests.

How we approached it

Behave explored a platform linking flight bookings with carbon calculations for each seat and automated planting and care of trees in community forests. The work asked how these parts could connect, from the information a passenger sees to the proposed work in the forest. The project received first prize in a Thai Airways green aviation innovation contest and was presented to Airbus executives in Toulouse.
